Vino Farms Trial

The Problem

We approached Vino Farms after a close friend suggested that they needed help with their irrigation ponds. After talking with their viticulturist we took a look at the pond that was giving them the most trouble, the one presented here.

Their filters were constantly plugged, causing the pumps to be chronically under pressured. The grapes at this particular vineyard were not getting sufficient irrigation due to pump damage. Their short-term solution was to frequently change their filters just to strive for enough irrigation for the vineyard.

The Trial

We knew we had to try our best to solve their problem. We were confident we could solve their algae problem. But could we solve their duckweed issue which significantly contributed to their cloggage? And could we clear the duckweed solely with Lake-Life at a low enough dosage as to not harm the wildlife in the pond? Why was the company before us unable to solve this issue? These were the questions we didn’t have answers to before the trial. Because of our uncertainties, and our strong desire to not do any harm to the wildlife, we decided to offer a short-term trial.

The trial started just on time for their peak irrigation season when they would need their pond the most. The trial ran through their irrigation timeline from mid-July to just about the end of September.

We are delighted to report that the trial was a success. During our trial no clogs were reported and, for the first time in a number of seasons, the farm could focus on their grape production and quality rather than fight against their irrigation system.

And we’re very happy to report that the wildlife stayed absolutely safe. The water turned out clear enough to finally see the fish and turtles again!

We are honored to have been asked by Vino Farms to continue a relationship with them beyond the trial, and have already been budgeted in for several more of their irrigation reservoirs. We’re very excited in our continued relationship with the farms and thankful for the opportunity to continue assisting in their ventures.
